Introducing MMX 365—A truly global MMS connectivity solution from Sybase 365 Global MMS requires the coordination of a variety of moving elements in order to be successful. Capabilities such as a reliable, secure, underlying IP network, flexible protocol support and support for a wide variety of networks, operators, and handsets must all interact in harmony to enable various types of rich media messages to traverse operator and country borders. One of the key benefits of the agreement between Cable&Wireless (C&W) and Sybase 365 is the merger of two high-quality MMS hubbing services–C&W’s global MMX service, providing international MMS interoperability and Sybase 365’s high-volume, U.S.-based MMS Exchange, providing domestic services to Tier 1 and Tier 2 operators in the United States. Combined, the new service now reaches more than 30 direct operator networks and, including peering, to almost 250 networks. The combination of these MMS hubbing environments–called MMX 365–creates a new, geographically diverse, multi-nodal MMS ecosystem that offers the top U.S. operators connectivity to C&W MMX connected operators and international operators connectivity to the U.S. operators. Also, it combines the strengths of each of the hubs, such as ultra-high volume capabilities of the Sybase 365 U.S. nodes and value adds, and the GRX-based MMX capabilities and strengths of the C&W hub.
